In the past few weeks we have focused on the theme "Labor of Love." Each week we paused to reflect on the 3 T's (time, talent, and treasure). The last two weeks we focused in particular on treasure where we paused to reflect upon our true treasure. Our time with the Lord and the talents He has blessed us week. This week we focused on our monetary contributions. Our parish is indeed blessed with many generous individuals who support the parish not just financially but also by sharing their time and talents.
As we closed our reflection today the Spirit moved me to pause and think about ourselves as treasures in the eyes of God. Indeed we are created in His image and likeness. This week as I invited us to pray for the Synod of Bishops meeting on the family may we also offer a prayer in thanksgiving for the gift of our parish family. Below is a picture from the sanctuary in which I took before the Profession of Faith. Here we stand before the Lord offering ourselves up to Him! As we offer the Lord our gifts and talents may we strive to see ourselves as gifts before His eyes.
