Father Carroll's message for Catechical Sunday.

Brothers and sisters,

This upcoming Sunday September 21st is Catechetical Sunday.  At our 10:45am Mass our catechists for the Religious Education Program, and our Catholic School teachers will be present.  This years theme is God's Gift of Forgiveness.  As catechists we are charged for handing on the faith and teaching God's merciful love is one of our core central teachings.

Please pray for all our catechists and teachers who sacrifice their time and talent for our parish.  I am truly grateful for their dedication to this essential ministry.  Please join me in praying for them and supporting them in all that they do for us.

I also want to say a word of thanks to all our parents who are the primary educators of their children.  You are the primary catechists.  Please know all of our catechists, teachers, and myself are truly grateful for all that you do and are humbled by the trust you place in us to assist you in your roles as the primary educators of your children.

Finally I wish to say a word on our focus this weekend of treasure.  As you know this month we have been focusing on the theme "Labor of Love," and there are many people in our parish laboring very hard to build up the faith in our parish family.  When we think of treasure our immediate instinct is to think of monetary contributions.  However, looking at it in the context of time and talent, today we recognize one of our greatest treasures...are hardworking dedicated catechists and teachers.  This weekend please join me in thanking them for all that they do for our children and for our parish at large!

Sincerely,

Reverend Keith M. Carroll
Pastor
