Come Away and Rest With Me

Jesus gives us a direct invitation in Today’s Gospel. Hear Him say this to you.  “You, my child, please come away by yourself to a deserted place and rest for a while with Me.”

At the heart of this invitation is a longing in Jesus’ heart that we rest from those burdens which weigh us down. We need to “come away” and “rest” because there are many things in our life that are not part of God’s will and impose a burden upon ourselves.

Exciting news!
Ground Breaking to commence at
St. Patrick Church


Dear Fellow Parishioners:
It is with long awaited anticipation that Father Carroll, along with the Capital Campaign Committee, announces the Ground Breaking for our first major Capital Improvement project. Construction is slated to begin in the courtyard on July 23, 2018. To commemorate this occasion, we will have a ground breaking ceremony on Sunday, July 22 following the 10:45 A.M. Mass. At this time, we will offer thanksgiving to our Lord, the Giver of all things good, for the generous contributions from our parish family that enabled this project to begin. We will also pray that this project will proceed safely and according to plan to bring us one important step closer to restoring and preserving our beautiful and historic church.
Please join us in the courtyard outside the rectory for this exciting ground breaking! Light refreshments will be served. See you this Sunday, July 22 following the 10:45 A.M. Mass.

Jesus gives a beautiful image of a man who plants seed and slowly it sprouts, grows and produces fruit, and He “knows not how.” I wonder if we stop and think about the seeds that are planted and grow within our Parish. Seeds are planted, and we know not how they grow, but only see the fruit they bear.

Review the Pastoral Council Missions and Chairpersons listed below, and the Ministries within each Mission and see where God may be calling you to serve Him. The truth is that each one of us is packed with unbelievable potential that God wants to bring to fruition. He wants to bring forth from our lives glorious blessings for our Parish. All we must do is allow Him to work.

America's 242nd Independence Day

America's 242nd Independence Day will be celebrated on 
Wednesday, July 4, 2018.
Read and Pray the Prayer written in 1791
for our Nation, which still applies today!



First two paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence:

"When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness."
